On The Road Comfort Food At Its Best – Beef Stroganoff Recipe

Sometimes when you are on the road as often as I am, you tend to miss/crave a good old home cooked meal, when all the eating out gets tiring. This is why I prefer booking self catering accommodation over hotels when travelling at times, as this allows me to be able to make myself self some delicious comfort foods.

A good tip for saving money on food when travelling, is to take some of my groceries that are nearer to expiration on the road with me and use them instead of letting them just go to waste while I am away.

On my recent road trip to Limpopo my go to comfort meal was a delicious Beef Straganoff made in just 20 minutes.  For this meal all I used was, beef, mushrooms, green pepper, onions, milk, flour, Knorr Beef Stroganoff Cook-in-Sauce, and garlic, some of these ingredients were already on the verge of living out there span and would have been “dead” by the time I returned.

If you are looking to make this at home then follow the simple steps below and ENJOY!

  • Add some olive oil to a heated pan then throw in your beef strips and let them brown.
  • Next add in your onions, peppers, mushrooms, garlic and Knorr Beef Stroganoff Cook-In-Sauce, cook on low heat until the meat is cooked (15 minutes).
  • Then add in the flour, and milk to make everything nice and creamy, let it cook for about 5 minutes.
  • Once the sauce is warmed then your Stroganoff is ready to be served. Serve with Rice or pasta. I generally prefer it with rice 🙂

If you don’t have all the above ingredients but want to know what you could make with the ingredients you do have, then simply send a Facebook message to Knorr’s #DinnerOnDemand service and they will send you some epic meal recipes.  This service is a great way to make sure you stop food wastage and #LeaveNoFoodBehind.  Let Knorr’s #DinnerOnDemand service help you make use of those lonely ingredients in fun creative ways so you never have to throw them away.

  1. Black bean stroganoff works nicely, for those eschewing beef. Worcester sauce and plain yogurt can make almost anything-plus-egg-noodles-and mushrooms taste like a stroganoff!
