Kaya FM 95.9 and Old Mutual present two luxurious evenings of the finest wines and malt whiskies for the second year running at Hyde Park Corner. This association between the two brands for the Kaya FM Wine & Malt Whisky Affair was established five years ago. The Kaya FM Wine & Malt Whisky Affair showcases a selection from over 25 Wine Farms & 20 Whisky Houses. This year we introduce four Gin Tables to suit the palates of connoisseurs and enthusiasts alike presented by Wade Bales.
In staying true to our previous events, we will be focusing on upcoming wine farms, Aslina Wines (Ntsiki Biyela), M’Hudi Wines (Malmsey Rangaka) and Sesfikile Wines (Nondumiso Pikashe) and some of South Africa’s more established wine farms. Whisky enthusiasts will have the opportunity to sample Diageo Brands, Paul John, and The Pogues Irish Whiskey who are showcasing for the first time. To enhance the experience, an exclusive Whisky Forum facilitated by the WhiskyBrother (Hyde Park Corner) on each evening from 6.45pm to 7.15pm, will again cater for 20-25 guests at no extra charge.
Afropolitans can expect to engage with the winemakers and whisky aficionados, discovering the unique insights into the secrets of the grape as well as the golden dram. A combination of both fine wine and malt whisky under one roof.
Hyde Park Corner is a sophisticated and luxurious shopping centre, boasting over 130 iconic speciality stores and is home to over 500 international brands.
Listen out for the Half-Time Bell from 7.30pm to 7.45pm, where for a limited period of 15 minutes, guests will be able to sample rare and limited editions of wine and whisky from “under the table”.
To complete the evening a selection of gourmet cheese, antipasti deli and artisanal breads will be on offer for the guests as they sample the various brands. Tickets are priced at R250 per person and includes a complimentary tasting glass, access to all wine and whisky products featured on the night, and the fine food.. Tickets are on sale at Webticket.
