Sometimes when you are in a rush or having a hectic work day, it’s always great to be able to find a relaxed environment where you can stop and recharge your batteries. A few days ago while working in Kyalami, Midrand I came across The Rock and decided right away that this is my battery recharge stop for the day. What pulled me in was it’s unique charm, fresh and relaxing atmosphere. I loved that your meals are cooked over an open fire coal and from the second I walked in, I was met with friendly and attentive service which made my simple dining experience far from average.
For lunch my colleague and I enjoyed the Lamb Shank with roasted vegetables and the succulent Spatchcock Chicken. The shank had fall-apart tender meat and was cooked to perfection while those roasted vegetables were extremely satisfying and flavourful. The menu is designed to appeal to a lot of people so trust me you will find something delicious for your pallet without a doubt. As excessive as the menu you can trust me when I say they don’t cut corners on quality.
If you are looking to make a stop at The Rock, then be prepared for big portions of food that are worth every penny. You can look at spending anything from R300 – R350 for two excluding drinks. It’s chilled, the food is good, it’s affordable and the people are great, everything you expect a restaurant to be.
The place looks fabulous,as do the dishes.
