Nicki Minaj Live In South Africa

So our awesome friends at Airey Scott hooked us up with some tickets to go see the sassy, snappy, beautiful, feisty Onika aka Nicki Minaj in her Pink Print Tour yesterday at the Ticket Pro Dome, Johannesburg. From the moment we arrived we didn’t really know what to expect, the only thing we knew is that we would most probably see a lot of PINK and a lot of pink wigs we did see (the Nicki fans didn’t disappoint). The concert started off with a blazing performance from SA Hip Hop “Royalty” Cassper Nyovest who I must say totally surprised me with his awesome command of the crowd (I haven’t really seen him perform a full set live before so hence the shock). His dancers were on point(they were better than Nicki’s dancers) and his whole set was well thought through, unfortunately from time to time the sound let him down but he still brought the heat, Ngud had the crowd going all types of crazy! Then finally 21:30 hit and the moment everyone had been waiting for had arrived…

Nicki Minaj graced the stage and kicked off the show with her hit song Roman’s Revenge and her fans started acting all kinds of weird (They were super energized and excited). They had me traumatized for like a second or two before I finally got into the grove of things when she performed hit songs All Eyes On You, Bottoms Up, Pills & Potions and my all time favourite Nicki track Beez in The Trap… I also thoroughly enjoyed it when she went all dance hall on us with her performance of Gyptians Hold Ya, that was one of the only moments where I actually danced LOL. She then went on to close the show with her MEGA SONG Starships and just like that it was all over…

Things that I learned and appreciated from last night though is that Nicki Minaj is super talented, she has a beautiful voice and for those of you going to her shows tonight and in the next couple of days do take some time form all the screaming to appreciate her vocal ability. The only thing that was a bit of a downer is that she didn’t really put on much of a dance performance which I think most people expected her to do for hits like Anaconda and Super Bass

Anyway Nicki left this message for all the men out there.

“You better be treating your lady right. Because I promise you there are 10 other guys lined up right here tonight who will treat her like a Queen.”

BOOM! Lol… It was a fun night out! Thank you and Congrats to the Airey Scott team for putting on another great show as always!

Sorry for the bad quality pics… I’m really short and could barely see anything from Golden Circle LOL
