Tokara’s Reserve Collection Cabernet Sauvignon is the overall champion of the 2022 Veritas Awards clinching the Duimpie Bayly Vertex trophy, the top accolade awarded by South Africa’s premium wine competition.

Consistently showing its prowess as an accomplished producer of Cabernet Sauvignon, Tokara claimed top Veritas honours for the much-lauded Reserve Collection Cabernet Sauvignon 2019. Crowned the best of the more than 1 300 wines entered this year, the 2019 vintage is a classic expression of Stellenbosch Cabernet Sauvignon.

This achievement is testament to the forward thinking vision of owners GT and Anne-Marie Ferreira to produce world class wines without compromise and supporting the farm’s single-minded focus on Cabernet Sauvignon as a significant cornerstone variety. Viticulturist Aidan Morton brings vast experience having worked with Cabernet Sauvignon on the Tokara site for over two decades. His wealth of knowledge is harnessed by winemaker Stuart Botha, who adds modern winemaking techniques to tease out the very best from the grapes.

The vibrant, richly textured Tokara Reserve Collection Cabernet Sauvignon showcases an effortless balance between fruit purity and tannin weight on the well-poised palate. Classic graphitic notes and brambleberry interwoven with five spice prevail on the nose and palate. Hints of blueberry, red currant and fynbos scrub add freshness.
