Rossa: Bedfordview’s Little Slice of Italy

If you’ve ever wished you could teleport to Italy for just one meal, Bedfordview locals will tell you, just head to Rossa.

Since opening its doors in 2009, Rossa has become more than a neighbourhood pizzeria. It’s a place where families celebrate, friends gather, and regulars are greeted by name. With its rustic charm, loving atmosphere, and proper Italian favourites, this eatery is filled with the kind of warmth only a true family-run spot can offer.

A Family Dream, Baked Fresh Daily

At the heart of Rossa is Claudia Lau, Bedfordview local and passionate foodie who helped launch the restaurant with one mission: to serve real Italian food, made traditionally, with heart. And she’s done exactly that.

Rossa is a true family affair even competing head-to-head with Claudia’s sister from Piccola Rossa in the Porcupine Ridge Pizzeria Challenge, where they proudly finished second in 2023. With fresh energy (and a new partner) on board, they’re back in the 2025 challenge and ready to chase that top spot.

Why Rossa Feels Like Home

With a loyal team many who’ve been there for over 10 years, Rossa isn’t just a restaurant. It’s a community.

Staff remember your name, your kids, and probably your favourite order too. It’s the type of place where memories are made over generous plates of pasta and pizza you’ll crave long after you leave.

The Pizza That Has the Whole Suburb Talking

Rossa doesn’t mess around when it comes to pizza:

  • Dough made with 00 flour, slow-fermented for three days

  • Thin, crispy, no-crust Roman-style base

  • Topped edge-to-edge with only the best ingredients

The Grande Pizza — a 60x40cm masterpiece, has achieved cult status. And Claudia’s top pick? The New York pizza loaded with spicy pepperoni.

Whether you love a purist Margherita or bold flavour combos, Rossa has over 40 options to explore (and yes, they welcome creative topping ideas—even the eyebrow-raising ones).

A Perfect Pairing 🍷

Pizza and wine? Always. Claudia’s go-to is the Messico pizza paired with Porcupine Ridge Cabernet Sauvignon, a match made in foodie heaven.

Cheering Them On in 2025

As the 2025 Porcupine Ridge Pizzeria Challenge kicks off, Rossa is ready, inspired, and hungry for the crown. Expect flavour, fun, and that signature Rossa charm.
