That’s exactly what’s happening at Groot Phesantekraal, where tradition is getting a fresh, playful update with the launch of six brand-new wine cocktails. Created to celebrate World Cocktail Day, the collection blends the farm’s signature wines with bold flavours, seasonal ingredients and modern mixology, proving that wine doesn’t always have to be serious. Sometimes, it can be fun, unexpected and made for long lunches with friends.

🍸 What’s New?

Groot Phesantekraal teamed up with celebrated bartender and flavour expert Julian Short (aka The Flavourist) to create a collection of cocktails inspired by the farm’s wines and rich heritage.

The idea? To make wine feel more playful, social and approachable, while still celebrating the character of each bottle. 🥂

🌸 The Garden Party
A sparkling Chenin Blanc cocktail inspired by the classic French 75. Bright, floral and made for sunny afternoons.

🍏 The Oubaas
Built around Sauvignon Blanc, this refreshing sip brings crisp apple and citrus flavours and celebrates the farm’s rich history.

🌅 Last Light
A silky cocktail inspired by Anna de Koning, one of the Cape’s most fascinating historical figures. Made with Chenin Blanc, brandy, pineapple and olive oil for a beautifully textured drink.

🍋 Farmhouse Spritz
Love aperitivo hour? This savoury spritz combines Cap Classique, limoncello, mint and olive brine for something fresh and unexpected.

🍯 Syrah Sour
A bold take on red wine cocktails, featuring Syrah, whisky, honey and lemon, layered to evolve with every sip.

🍓 Rosé All Day
Rosé meets tequila, strawberry balsamic syrup and lime in this playful pink cocktail that screams summer vibes.

More Than Just Drinks

Adding even more magic to the experience, each cocktail comes with its own cinematic micro-film, showcasing the farm’s landscapes, history and people in a beautifully creative way. Think wine meets storytelling. ✨
