One of the best things about going on holiday is finding out that pictures don’t always lie. Sometimes what you see is truly what you get and that’s what happened when we arrived at our Dockside Guest House for our weekend away in Port Alfred. Our guest house is one of the most stunning houses, located by the picturesque small boat harbour on the East Bank. It’s owned by the lovely Pat and Des, can I just add that these two are the most amazing hosts ever. On our first night, Pat gave us a map and guide on all the amazing hot spots to visit during our stay in Port Alfred.For those of you looking to visit Port Alfred, Aunt Pat’s guesthouse has stunning rooms with an amazing view, yep, that’s right. We always live for the views, that’s enough inspiration to blog as it is. It has an open plan lounge and dining area with a large garden where one can just relax and read. The guest house is also close to the beaches and some awesome restaurants, so if you are looking to have a great meal or just relax you will be sorted. For all wine lovers there are plenty of amazing wine stores around.

The best part of the entire stay at the guest house was Oom Des’ amazing breakfast (it was so good I forgot to take pics), who could have thought that eggs could be this enjoyable? Oom Des’ English breakfast is to die for, trust me on this one guys! Dockside made our holiday all the more amazing and we couldn’t be more grateful for the amazing owners.
