We recently visited Mila Modern Greek at LXX Sandhurst for a relaxed Friendmas lunch, and overall it was a beautiful experience that delivered on both flavour and atmosphere. From the moment you step inside, the restaurant aesthetics stand out, modern, elegant, and thoughtfully designed, making it the perfect setting for a special catch-up with friends.

We kicked things off with a selection of starters, including the charred calamari, Greek meatballs, and a classic Greek salad. Everything was light, fresh, and ideal for sharing. The calamari was tender with just the right amount of char, the meatballs were comforting and flavourful, and the salad was crisp and refreshing.

The mains were where Mila truly impressed. We enjoyed several lamb dishes, each better than the last. The Lamb Youvetsi was rich and comforting, slow-cooked to perfection, while the Lamb Kleftiko was a standout, falling off the bone and packed with deep, aromatic flavour. The lamb cutlets were beautifully cooked, tender, and full of flavour, and the fish en papillote was light, soft, and delicately seasoned. Every main we tried felt carefully prepared and genuinely exceptional.

One small drawback was the cocktail service, as drinks took quite a while to arrive, which occasionally disrupted the flow of the lunch, especially when some guests were still waiting for cocktails while others had already finished theirs. While the cocktails themselves were good, the delays did impact the vibe at times.

That said, our waiter was absolutely lovely, friendly, attentive, and welcoming, which added warmth to the experience and helped balance out the slower drink service.

Mila Modern Greek is on the pricier side, but the quality of the food, the stunning setting, and the overall experience make it well worth a visit for special occasions or celebratory lunches. The food alone earns a solid 8/10, and if you’re looking for a restaurant that both looks great and serves incredible food, Mila Modern Greek is definitely one to add to your list.
