When the consumer Product of the Year invites you out for a hearty breakfast on a Friday morning, it only makes sense to immediately oblige. The 2017 Product of the Year winners (a very well deserved recognition) White Star Super Maize Meal treated us and a few other foodie bloggers for a morning of celebrations and spoiling. The morning started off with the sweet sounds of jazz from the angelic Wanda Baloyi who blessed us with her Portuguese musical roots.

After being serenaded we went on to taste the new White Star Instant Porridge and being the strawberry addict I went straight for the Strawberry Flavoured Porridge. It was the perfect choice (I always make great choices lol) and a good healthy start to the morning… The porridge was creamy and full of flavour I added in a few fresh strawberries to it which made it all the more delicious. The instant porridge comes in a few different flavours but the ones that stood out the most were the Banana, Strawberry, Chocolate & Vanilla, with the Vanilla being a clear favourite of the morning.

Once we were done with the tasting the bubbly made an appearance which meant that it was celebration time. We celebrated, laughed to Skhumba’s jokes, mingled, made new friends and ate more delicious food for a couple of hours. The perfect start to the weekend. CONGRATULATIONS WHITE STAR a very well deserved win! We can’t wait to start trying out all the different recipes with our White Star maize meal.
