Enchanting bushveld, elephant herd sightings, mouthwatering game food and the most welcoming service, is just some of the beautiful things you can expect when visiting Victoria Falls Safari Lodge in Zimbabwe. Myself and 4 other wonderful bloggers/vloggers were treated to a trip of a lifetime to Victoria Falls this past week by Take Note Reputation Management.

Our trip started off with a quick 1 hour & 45-minute flight from O.R Tambo to Victoria Falls International Airport on the African value airline Fastjet, which to my surprise offers really affordable flights between South Africa & Zimbabwe. Once we landed at Victoria Falls I was very impressed by the staff’s efficiency to get us through immigration and customs hassle free. So far, our trip was off to a great start with everything from our travels to our airport transfers going smoothly.

On our drive in to Victoria Falls Safari Lodge it was safe to say we were all in awe of the beautiful bushveld scenery and all the beautiful wildlife roaming freely, everything from monkeys, impala, to warthogs and squirrels. At check-in, we were greeted by big smiles and incredible service, of course you would expect us to get great service 24/7 as this was a media trip but I can honestly say heartwarming hospitality is a way of life at the lodge regardless of who you are. I made sure to watch how staff interacts with different customers and the service was consistently friendly and amazing.

Once checked in we each headed to our rooms where I was booked in to room lucky numero uno. My room had an amazing view of the waterhole in the reserve and on our third night, a herd of elephants just happened to pass by to quench their thirst, a very spectacular sighting. Room numero uno was also very spacious and light, with glass sliding doors opening on to a private balcony, where I watched the beautiful sunset each night while enjoying my delicious welcome bottle of bubbly.  – Room tip: use the customised toiletries which include insect repellent and sunscreen.

For the foodies like myself the lodge has some deliciously relaxed and elegant, dining and chill out options, the award-winning MaKuwa-Kuwa Restaurant and the famous Buffalo Bar. Dinner and Lunch at the MaKuwa-Kuwa Restaurant never disappointed, while sunset cocktails at the Buffalo Bar always left us with hilariously fun memories and special visits from Hyena’s. My favourite part of dining for once was breakfast, the breakfast buffet features sweet pastry delights, along with pancakes, fruits, meats, cheeses, and bloody Mary’s. – Dining tip: pace yourself there is a lot of delicious options to try, everything from crocodile, kudu pies to bream and it is all delicious and full of flavour.

To help you survive the sweltering Zimbabwe heat the lodge also has a two-tiered swimming pool which offers sunset-facing views of the bushveld and wildlife-rich waterhole. For the gym fanatics, there is a gym on the property which also give you wonderful viewing access to the waterhole so you don’t miss a thing while working out. – Cooling down tip: take some time off go read a book in the guest lounge while still enjoying the magnificent views.

On the property, there are 3 other lodges ranging from exclusive private facilities to family / group booking facilities. Some more affordable than others but all spectacular and great value for money.
