Weekend Sho’t Left To Zebula Golf Estate And Spa

With January finally coming to an end my friends thought it would be a good idea to spend the last weekend of the month exploring new places in South Africa. So we took a young sho’t left this past weekend to Zebula Golf Estate & Spa in Bela Bela. For someone who regularly goes past Bela Bela in order to get home in Limpopo I am surprised I have never actually explored the place. I guess there is always a first time for everything and this place was surely a little bit of everything:

The Rooms: They were spacious, clean and overlooked the golf course with it’s spectacular bushveld setting, giving it that extra challenging play that most golfers love. In each room you can expect a minibar, DStv, air conditioning and a luxurious en-suite bathroom. I found the rooms to be very simplistic but with all the home comforts you would need.

The Food: Well now this was the highlight of the weekend for everyone. The food was absolutely delicious the steak was served in generous proportions and it was beautifully smoked on the outside and juicy within. The fish dish was just as magnificent, cooked to perfection and the flavours just mind blowing. The only thing they can improve on when it comes to the food is the presentation some dishes looked stunning while others look like a 3 year old had dished them up. 🙂

The Service: This was the only thing that was not on par with the rest of the lodge. I expected it to be 5 star but it was more like 2.5 stars. From the moment you arrive you can already tell that you are in for some extremely slow service due to the lack of staff on the premises. The place was really understaffed this past weekend, maybe everyone is still on leave who knows lol.

The Views & Activities: Lots and lots of green if you are a golfer you will really enjoy the course and if you are a cyclist/hiker the trails are scenic and look like something out of a fairy-tale. For animal lovers you can enjoy the wild life, simply go on a safari or interact with animals on a cheetah run or walk with the elephants (live dangerously people). You can also go on quad and horseback safaris if that is your thing. Seeing as I was with a bunch of drunkards we didn’t really experience all the wild life adventures as much as we could.

For those of you looking to take your next little adventure I would highly recommend Zebula like I said before it has a little bit of everything for everyone. Give them a shout and get a good holiday package for you and your buddies. Now it’s back to the city of gold and back to the grind, Happy Monday Everyone!
