My Favourite Sunday Funday Chill Spots In Cape Town That Are Worth A Visit!

Sunday’s Oh Sunday’s, they are meant to be our resting days but sometimes you just get that little urge to want to go out and be surrounded by epic tunes and all around positive vibes, while you enjoy some mouth watering food and delicious cocktails (the strong kind that make one happy lol). For me this urge kicks in every once in a while and when it does, if I happen to be back home in Cape Town, then these 3 spots are my go to first choice picks. Not only do these places serve good quality food, they also offer some of the best service you will find in Cape Town. Wether you are in the mood for some tapas or a good old pizza on a Sunday, then they have got you covered:

La Parada Constantia Nek: Now if you are looking for laid back vibes and stunning mountain views then La Parada in Constantia is the perfect Sunday vibe. Unlike the one in Camps Bay, here you can expect spectacular service and you are bound to meet some amazing people. The menu consist of deliciously fresh Spanish tapas and those strong cocktails I love so much 😛 . Come shake a tail feather or two into an epic week over some exhilarating tunes. Now if you ask me La Parada in Constantia is the perfect way to end any week. Want to have a blissful week ahead then try out La Parada on Sunday’s, trust me your mood will be elevated to a whole new level of positivity. Good food, good music and kickass service!

My favourite items to try on the menuThe Filet de Carne (beef fillet, tomato red pepper chutney) or the Pescado con Salsa de Verano (Kingklip, charred pineapple, tomato & coriander)

Tiger’s Milk on Kloof: If your Sunday cravings are calling out for some real handcrafted pizza and burgers, then Tigers Milk is well worth a visit. It is definitely a good place to unwind over a beer or two with some friends on a Sunday afternoon. It is one of my favourite low-key chill spots on Sunday’s before a football game. The prices are also super reasonable, you guys know I love the one in JHB too, these guys are pretty good when it comes to customer service. I have never had a bad experience at any of them.

My favourite drink here –  which apparently also happens be Benni McCarthy’s favourite drink is the Summer Fruit Collins.

Shimmy Beach Club: Looking to spend a near-mythical Sunday with your family on some sun beds or in the pool while taking in the beautiful sea views then Shimmy is a no-brainer. I actually prefer it on Sunday’s it more relaxed and you can actually enjoy the comfort and elegance that it offers without it being over crowded. Why I also love it on Sunday’s is because service is fast 😛 – The seafood platters here are to die for, they are little bit pricey but great value for money.

My go to cocktail here: Cape Town Sunset – Granadine, Pineapple Juice, Passion Fruit, Coconut & Tequila, you can thank me later lol.

These three spots are just a few out of the many amazing places in Cape Town. I will be doing a “My Top Winter lunch and dinner spots in CPT & JHB,” post soon so look out for that.
